I recently ordered my first Liquid reel and I have to say for the price it’s hard to find a better reel. It a great reel with a very smooth drag system, large backing capacity, and visually looks stunning. The addition of 2 spare spools is fantastic as well and is a great value. This liquid is my first Lamson reel and I can assure you it will not be my last! Looking forward to taking it all over US.
I was really impressed with this rod. The Lockdown feature means you never drop your reel in the ocean by accident. I will be heading to Mexico over the holidays and my setup will be in my bag.
Just purchased another Lamson Liquid 7wt for this years Erie trib steelhead season. The perfect reel for what I am looking for. Great value and performance.
I have multiple Lamson reels and have been impressed with all of them landing trout to tarpon on them, but the new speedster is on another level for light weight, smoothness and beauty. I highly recommend it!
The sticker works as advertised
Confident in 2-3’ shore break because my reel is sealed, lite & with good factory support.
Been beach fish’n for near 50 years….this reel makes me a better fisherman. Coupled to a 2-Hand rod.

Love all of my lamson reels. They have never let me down and always perform exactly how they should.
Great bags for reels and some leader tippet storage.
Great sticker, even bttr gear.
So far in my opinion after using this reel on a custom Bart Rod 6wt. It has handled king salmon, coho salmon, Brown Trout and steelheads. Rock solid reel! I recommend this one! Tight lines and great times!
This reel belongs on the water. It makes you want to use it. Great looks and perfect function.
Force LT 4.
Switch between spey rod and 12wt single handle rod.
Quick line retrieve and excellent drag.
Nice added protection for the reel when it's in my rod vault.
I was introduced to the Lamson center axis a couple of years ago when fishing on the San Juan with my friend Guy. A long roll cast was required in the run we were fishing and I was amazed by its power, action, ease of casting and accuracy. I purchased a 4 wt and now fish only with it (actually I now have a 4, 5, and a 6 wt), and also gave one to each of my brothers. They have subsequently each purchased an additional center axis. It handles large fish very well, is easy to fish with all day. One of our fishing partners also now owns one. It is very convenient to break down and store in the carrying case, and I never forget my reel when we go to the river. I was surprised to hear that it may be discontinued as it is such an outstanding rod and reel system. It is an excellent, very well balanced combination. I have owned a small Lamson reel that I have used with a 2 wt graphite rod for over 25 yrs, and it has been excellent, so I expect the same from the Center Axis rods/reels.
I have this reel in a 3, 3.5 and recently added a 4 because of how happy I've been with the 3 & 3.5. I mostly use it for freshwater (large trout, steelhead, and bass) but have also used it in the salt for inshore fishing for Dorado and Roosterfish, where it worked admirably. The Roosters really tested the drag and was so happy with it that I've added the 4 to pair with a 10wt I recently received. Sadly, this model has been discontinued so I've been hunting for spools.
