Free-flowing design comes down to physics. At Waterworks-Lamson, we make fly gear that’s fluid and dynamic. Making you a real force of nature.
This is the BEST reel you will find for the money hands down.
I own a three pack and two other liquid reels for me and my wife.
We have been using them now for two years.
Other than a little cleaning from time to time these reels still are as smooth as the day we bought them.
But it is. I began, tentatively, with #5. Now I own all three of the freshwater models. Use them in Montana, Idaho, New Mexico, New Zealand and leave my Sage, Loomis and other graphites home. Amazingly powerful and accurate, throwing laser darts at exactly the spot you're looking at. The first time I took one to the Big Horn my guide of many years complimented me on the hours of practice I must've put in, my accuracy was so much improved. I said it wasn't me, it was the rod. He scoffed. I handed him the rod. He was blown away. It was the rod alright. At the full price they're a bargain, at the sale price a steal.
I bought the 3 pc reel set from a local shop every where was sold out. Very good quality, super clean looking and the price is right!! Nothing to complain about. Will be buy more lamson reels. Using for bass, striper, steelhead, big trout, cutthroats on my 7wt rod.
If you're weighing your 3wt reel before you fish with it, then it's highly likely that you need to spend more time actually fishing.
I have released hundreds of fish over several years without ever touching them. Not touching a fish means not squeezing its organs or accidentally rubbing off any of its protective mucous/slime, i.e., making a real difference in fish mortality. The Ketchum Release is my gift to the trout!
I have had my Liquid 3 pack for about 2 years now and have not used it a great deal but enough to know that it is well worth the price. I Got a size 2 and I don't even see that as an option now but anyway I can use it on a 4 wt and a 7wt just fine. The drag is still very smooth and adjustability is easy. The finish has been scuffed off some of the edges a bit but I don't baby my stuff and for this price your not getting a Lexus paint job but you don't need a great paint job either. It's reliable, affordable, and with the 3 pack you got options for 200 dollars. Will i move up to a reel with more Bling, well probably so as I am starting to go deep into this fly fishing stuff but will more bling work any better? I doubt it really but I do like to look at pretty stuff so yea it's gonna happen eventually. Cant go wrong on this one get it while you can.
I caught the Permit sickness 17 years ago, and the sickness became an obsession. I live in Key West where I can indulge this obsession. Today, I do not believe there is a reel that can match the Litespeed M! Lightweight, waterproof to 100 feet drag, adjustable click drag that will subdue a hot three-digit tarpon, huge arbor, not too wide frame, and lest I forget--sexy looking! No- I don't get free reels, and yes, I do have drawers filled with other fine reels I no longer fish. eBay, here I come!
Bottom line: the engineer/fanatics at Waterworks have designed (for this obsessive angler who doggedly pursues Bones, Perms and Poons) the state-of-the-art flats reel--regardless of price. Lord only knows what these guys will come up with next?
And if you're wondering, I spool my Litespeed M's with the new Rio Direct Core Elite lines and I attach them to Sage Igniter rods (all of which I also pay for).
I'm not sure why these aren't more popular! I recently bought a 5wt and 4wt for me and my wife to use for our backcountry fishing adventures. I love that I don't have to carry a reel separately while backpacking. The rod itself feels like a major competitor to all the high dollar brands that are out of my price range, plus it comes with a great reel. I am very happy with both rods and excited to catch more fish on them for many years to come. I am thankful that my first quality fly rods and reels are from an Idaho company as I am an Idaho native. Great work Waterworks Lamson design team!
I am a big Lamson fan. I have always liked the simplicity of their designs and operational efficiency. I have just purchased a Guru S 5+ for a new 5 weight rig I have put together.
The Guru seems to have morphed from an efficient but plain jane into an understated and quite elegant design. The functionality seems to have been enhanced with improved spool porting to aid the drying of backing following the inevitable dunking i regularly give my reels.
The simple elegance of the design and the lovely olive green anodized finish look far more appealing than many top end offerings that, frankly look over designed and a little bit tacky for my tastes.
A fine effort and please keep up the great work.
Long story but I'll try to keep it short! I ordered a lamson remix 3 pack from bass pro shop, I noticed the product shipped from the manufacturer. When I started seeing my order ship from bass they never provided any sort of tracking or updates and was told to reach out to lamson directly? Doesn't make sense I did order from them I ordered from bass pro. Well I followed the guidance and got into touch with Sean in the customer service and he went above and behind with daily emails of updates and making sure I got my product. I was stressing due to moving homes the same week my product was coming. Luckily I received it the day Sean told me. Fast forward to Saturday, I've got line on my reels and paired with my new redington vice 7wt. These reels are flawless, and a powerhouse at picking up line. Got into a few nice sized trout on streamers and the drag and functionality of these reels are absolutely stunning! I will definitely be making a future purchase for my lighter weight rods. Also huge plus I think for anyone is that these reels fit multiple rods, I have the -7+ and it pairs nicely on my 6wt and as well as my 8 wt. all around I recommend these reels and working with lamson on your next purchase, I have never received the type of service I did from Sean and the gang! THE WHOLE TEAM NEEDS A RAISE!
Thanks again Sean and team, I look forward to many more lamson products in my packs!
In the world often the best of a product segment is thousands of dollars, but in fishing, this is the top of of the top. Artlike beauty, precision craftsmanship, and works flawlessly. This reel makes even not catching fish an enjoyable event, and of course when they begin to strike, well it reels them in perfectly.
It is great to see the best reel maker expand further into the rod space. I was uncertain they would pull it off but this rod with excellent light action is very precise and the Lockdown feature just means you never drop your reel when knee-deep in a river. Bravo now my son wants one as well...
Congratulations, great job !!! received yesterday morning the Litespeed F 3+ Whiskey, a true work of art, it seems tailor-made to be mounted on my SAGE Trout LL, truly a perfect match, I wanted to try it immediately in the water, perhaps with a nice fish attached but, unfortunately, due to rain and swollen and dirty rivers I will have to wait a few days, so when dry the clutch seems very sweet and progressive, great thing when fishing with fine lines, the reel finishes are stellar, what can I say? The top to 360°
PS; I apologize for my bad English
All things considered this is the nicest reel I own now. It works flawlessly (so far) and looks fantastic in whiskey. It is light and the large arbor works well. You will not be let down with one of these.
It's the system! Excellent rod design married to an attractive light weight large arbor reel with a great drag. Can't get any better!! I have fished a 4 wt center axis for over four years. It can handle 7X tippet with finess and a 30" rainbow with authority. Five stars are simply not enough!
