from 116 reviewsI have 4 of the -7+ model and 20 spare spools for sea trout and reservoir fishing in the UK.
Great drag system simple sublime and reels are a joy to use on any of my 7# rods
The relatively lower price compared to the top end Lamson and the lower spool price with the same drag system was a major factor in the Remix reel and spools being my number 1 choice
Have used Lamson for years and never had an issue keep up the good work.

By far the best reel for the price range. I've had it 6 months and have fished the San Juan River in NM and Buffalo River at Henry's Fork in Idaho. The drag system was superb as I hooked a beautiful Rainbow and complimented my fiberglass rod which prevented the fish from breaking my tippet. The construction is excellent with the machined portions adding detail to a beautifully designed reel. I found the operation to be very smooth. A light reel that compliments the balance of my rod well. The reviewer who gave this reel 3 stars (Labeled- Very good but...) and wouldn't recommend it should probably spend another $300 on a reel that completely meets his expectations. In my experience, it's the person who catches the fish, not the reel or rod!

The Speedster S is my favorite reel, period. I love Lamson reels and have been buying them for the past 30 years. Needless to say, I have quite a few, but my Speedster S -7+ (amber) is my absolute fave! I live in Colorado where I guide and fish for trout, bass, carp, pike, and have taken this reel with me for Alaskan lakers and have never been disappointed. Waterworks-Lamson makes the best reels for the money and they have always had my back as a pro.

I normally do not buy factory-made rods unless I need a backup or a second rod for a partner. However, the Cobalt is by far the best factory-made rod I have used. I recently bought a Cobalt that I paired with the Litespeed M for a second surf rod. The outfit is fantastic. It balances well, casts like a dream, easily picks up the line off the water and is one of the most accurate rods I have used. I will highly recommend these rods to my friends and fishing partners.

I’ve used the Remix, and Liquid as my guide reels for the past 3 seasons and don’t see myself switching anytime soon. They are everything I could ask for in my equipment. They are reliable, versatile, and always perform when I need them. The drag system is smooth and handles everything I throw at it. The compatibility of the spools between both models allows me to carry multiple line systems to handle varying conditions. I recommend these reels to anyone looking for versatility, and functionality.

Just watched ur You Tube commercial on the Liquid Reel, fantastic very informative, where can I get one.👍

Own one for my five weight and for my eight weight. Super high quality, The spare spool means I can change lines fast and the drag works great. Buy one.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I have to here. I just built a 9wt combo with a Cobalt rod, and G5 Litespeed reel. All I can say is WOW!! I never have been able to afford “high end rods”, but I have had the honor to cast a few. But the Cobalt takes the cake. First time for me a rod will cast where I want it. Like sniper accurate. Today was my first day out with it, and although I was chasing pike, the smallmouth bite was on! I landed a few fish, with one fat sally. I couldn’t be more pleased. Fast action, tight loops. And probably the most line I’ve ever had out (50-70 ft?), AND controllable. I need to work on the ol’ double haul a bit, but I love this rod. I will be replacing my other rods with this as time and money allows. To summarize, Waterworks-Lamson, BRAVO!

I have had a Lamson Liquid for over 4 years and this reel has never let me down. Highly recommend giving it a try.

I’ve made 2 reviews on this reel already, I like this reel so much I’ll add another - if it’s possible for the engineers to give it the look of the of the Lite Speed F with the star in the middle ( it looks so cool ) instead of the button type nut it has, one way of achieving this might be to incorporate the nut into the reel and screw the hole reel onto the spool or achieve it in fashion like the cobalt does.

I have been fishing the same 4wt rod and reel for a long time and have had much success both dry flying and nymphing. This year, however, I wanted to "up" my drying flying game. After much research, I decided on the Lamson 3wt Purist. The river I fish most requires small dry flies - 22-26's. The presentation must be soft and accurate. The Purist does both extremely well. I like the two piece rod assembly and the attractive finish. This rod makes beautiful curve casts, roll casts and reach casts. The new lock down rail system is an added bonus. I have also high-sticked this rod when there were no fish rising and it performed exceptionally well. It's light weight is a big plus. I believe this would be a great nymphing rod on small brooks. In closing, I do believe the Purist has improved my dry flying and at the listed price, it is a GREAT VALUE. I rightly recommend this rod.

I’ve already commented on this reel it’s a 9.8 out of 10, no other reel comes close to what this reel can do for its weight. I’ve Subtracted 0.2 to off the perfect 10, to gain the 0.2 to be a perfect score this reel should have a integrated foot into the reel it being a flag ship reel.
The other improvement an aluminium handle, they feel so much nicer to the touch than a plastic handle,
As some other post have mentioned a size 6 would be nice

After my first two outings with my Velocity 5 wt it became my go-to all purpose rod for the Owyhee and South Fork of the Boise rivers. It has the muscle to cast streamers, heavily weighted nymphs and large foam flys with confidence while still enabling me to pivot to small dries when a hatch starts. In short, a versatile “do it all rod” that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their current rod or those looking to add a versatile rod to their quiver that will be able to cover a broad range of potential situations while on your favorite river.

I purchased a Purist 9' 4 wt a little while back and finally had a chance to use it recently. I was on a little creek at snow line that was crystal clear and spooky. One strike and your out type of fishishing.
This rod is awesome, pin point accuracy, a joy to cast! I have been fishing with a fly rod in my hands for 61 years. Although, lots of worm dipping as a kid! There are several quality fly rods in my closet and now they will remain there.
Many thanks to Waterworks Lamson for building a quality product.

This reel is awesome, being such a light reel for saltwater I like the idea that it could also be used for heaver
Salmon or trophy trout if waterworks would also offer it in the 8 in a slate or similar colour it could be a reel
for fresh and salt
