Designed To Flow
Free-flowing design comes down to physics. At Waterworks-Lamson, we make fly gear that’s fluid and dynamic. Making you a real force of nature.
After several years of use I added a Lamson reel to my old TFO that I really liked so when it came time to look for a new 5 wt I picked up a Purest and headed for the North Fork of the C'DA. Spent over 8 hours fishing a wide range of flies, including hoppers (w/ a dropper) to very small dries.I didn't want to come off the river and had my best day on this river in years! It's a great rod that I look forward to fishing for years to come. I'd definitely recommend it.
The thing I love most about this company is their costumer service. I wrote a review of this reel last night and they called me first thing this morning. We're working on a solution and I'm confident they'll make sure this doesn't hairbrush to me again.
I've had the guru on my Douglas 5wt rod for a few months now and have fished on a variety of different river, streams, and lakes. I am fully impressed at how smooth the drag is when lowering or upping it, not to mention that it feels like nothing in my hand when casting and walking from pool to pool, plus it looks sweet.
've so many reels already from Lamson, however this was a great addition for bass fishing. I've the Litespeeds and Speedsters for my trout and salmon reels but grabbed this for bass in the local ponds. Wow what a great reel package for the price. Drag is great, spools easy to change, its robust and actually balances my Sage 4wt perfectly. Its a great reel pack to stick in the car and grab an hour fly fishing for bass. My son and nephew got these for birthdays also for euronymphing and trout fishing and rave about them. A bargain even at the entry level. You will not be dissapointed.
got the largest size in black for my salmon double handed rod. What a beast of a reel!! perfect weight for my 15 foot rod and balances it perfectly. Loads of line capacity and the perfect drag. The drag is superior on this Lamson and you can stop any salmon with the drag if you need to stop that runaway fish heading out of the pool. I ended up buying another 3 for my sons who decided to swap to lamson after getting the smaller trout versions as gifts. Awesome bit if kit.
Added this to my Lansom reels recently (have Litespeeds, Speedsters and Remix in various sizes frpm 4-11 wt). Another great purchase. Solid reel, smooth mechanisms and the drag with infinite settings from light to full lock. What more do you need. Carries the line rated with loads of backing and winds back on evenly. ,achining tolerances are first class so never have any line nips between the spool and casing after changing spools, which is super easy to do. Yet agian delighted with another Lamson reel
I use my Lamson Liquid reel for fresh and salt water, it has not disappointed! Lightweight but tough, a quick and easy change of spools allows me to use this reel for many applications. Affordably priced spare spools allow me to keep the right line at the ready in my gear bag!
It takes just a little getting use to but works great. Good for both fish and fly.
I've had my Guru reel for several years and it's still one of my favorites. It's got a few marks on it now but it still works as smooth as silk!
I have had my Liquid reel (-5+, Smoke) for a little over a year and have been very pleased. The fit and finish are very good and the drag is excellent!
I’ve been using a Liquid for approximately 4 years now and have never had a problem with it. I honestly don’t think there’s a better reel for the money. Great product at a great price.
I was looking to replace one of my older small arbor fly reels. I had received an email from Sierra about a sale they were having. I saw the Liquid being offered at a great price and bought one. Installed backing and my preferred WF line. Wow! I was quite impressed, so much that I purchased another one for another rod. After fishing with both, I subsequently purchased the spare spool (3) with nylon case deal. I'm here to tell you that I'm very happy with my Liquid reels!!
I love this set-up! I'm able to switch floating, intermediate, and sinking lines very quickly, and the case keeps everything clean and protected. I highly recommend the 3-pack for anyone looking to fish different lines on the same rod.
I’d never heard of Lamson before, but my local fly shop (ran by a fishing wizard) put me onto this 9’ 5 weight rod. He sells $100 rods and $2000 rods, and everything in between. I tried multiple rods but I honestly knew too little to even know what to look for, what to think about, what I should feel when handling these things, and so on. When looking at all these ro options, I asked fishing wizard what he was excited about; his eyes lit up. “Let me show you something”, he said. He spooled up a velocity for me and we took it to the casting pond. “They should be charging twice as much as they are for this thing” said fishing wizard about the Lamson. I took a gamble on the unknown and that rod ended up in my truck.
What a joy this rod has been! I caught a personal record number of trout just two days ago. Fishing wizard strung up 6 weight line on my #5 rod, because this velocity has the backbone to send it. This friggin thing will shoot line! I’ve so enjoyed fishing this thing, and I really like the details that make this rod pop. I have no regrets spending a little more than I intended to for my velocity. I already look forward to the next time this rod bends in my hand from the weight of a trout trying to make a getaway. I’m thankful for what the Lamson team has created so that I can enjoy creation through fishing for bows. If you’re on the fence about this rod, the velocity has my hearty recommendation.
Trout, smallies, and I have beaten on my Guru 5 and 7 . . . and they continue to operate with unrivaled smoothness and reliability. I'm planning to replace a Ross 3w that has a sticky drag with my third Guru this winter. Do not spend less - and there's no need to spend more.
