Liquid courage.Let’s face it, die-cast reels are intended to be low-cost alternatives to machined reels, right? Heavier. Easier to damage. Plain Jane. Well . . . not anymore. When creating Liquid, we focused purely on the virtues and advantages a pressure-cast process can offer. Structurally, you can do things with casting that you can’t machine: Full-radius compound curves. Near zero-radius inside corners. And for a precision fit and finish, we even go back and machine the cast part in critical areas—amplifying the best aspects of both worlds.

I have 3 of these reels. They are absolutely top of the line- just like any lamson reel. You can’t deny quality

I keep buying them for both my rods and my son's rods
I have had the GURU for years and saw this model and figured I'd give them a try. I now have three and they really are one of the nicest reels around, especially for the price. In addition to being a great reel, the support from Lamson has also been fantastic. Had a slight issue with one of the spools and sent it back to Lamson and they repaired and send it back to me in under two weeks. This type of quality and service at this price point is why I keep coming back to Lamson.
Thanks for giving us a chance to make it right for you. If anything comes up we are here to help.

Wonderful reel and a great value.
While the buzz on these reels tends to focus on value, these reels are quite good. I've had mine for years now and its never had a problem. In fact, its been a sweet performing reel. I plan to buy a second this spring. My first came in the three pack and what a deal that is! Did I say how light it is? Its just right in weight for me. I'm a small stream guy and its perfect for that. I'd have no problem using it on big water. In other words, its very versatile.
Really well said! The Liquids price tag does not reflect its performance and you cant beat the versatility of the 3-Pack. The smaller sizes make for a prefect small stream reel and the -9+ can put the breaks on steelhead, salmon, salt water game fish or whatever else you can hook into. Thanks for taking the time to let us know and for fishing our reels!

Love It
I bought a -7+ liquid a little over a year ago. I put it on my 7WT which I used for smallmouth fishing during the summer months. I am lucky enough to be able to fish every day during the summer, and my favorite smallmouth spots are pretty rugged, so my liquid took a beating and passed with flying colors this past summer. I’ve never had a budget reel survive the summer before.
The drag is awesome. It doesn’t come loose like the other popular budget reels, and it played plenty of fiesty 20”+ smallies this summer.
While, I’m sure a higher end reel would out perform the liquid, this reel performs well enough that I can save that money for tying materials or food on trips.

Reel Construction
Recently purchased Larson Liquid, practiced casting, then went to the bulkhead in Sea Isle City NJ for blues and striper. Inadvertently hit the rod on the wood bulkhead and the reel tangs where it mounts to the reel seat snapped off. These are extremely thin and cast aluminum. Poor method of mounting or just poor material? Extremely disappointed and very aggravated. Has often does this occur and remedy is there?
I'm really sorry to hear the reel took a hit and broke. Things happen but we are here to back you up! Please reach out to us at 1-208-562-1310 or email us at CustomerSupport@waterworks-Lamson.com for more support. We will get you taken care of ASAP.
Fish saver. Our breakout product in the fly fishing industry, years ago, we thought: “There’s got to be a better way to remove a delicately-tied fly from a hooked fish than the hoisting, clamping, and wrenching process now on display.” So we created a simply innovative tool capable of reducing fish mortality by eliminating netting and handling—then named it after our home-base of Ketchum, Idaho. This technique will preserve protective coatings and eliminate air exposure. The Ketchum Release® tool makes low-mortality release easy, plus allows you to retrieve your fly without damage. It even keeps your hands high and dry. The Ketchum Release® is available in three sizes: Big Bug for hook sizes 6-10; Standard for sizes 12-16; and Midge for sizes 18-22.
