A super-high retrieve rate reel, the Speedster S features a narrower spool, inboard mounted handle, and an outer diameter significantly larger than our highest performing reels. The narrow spool prevents line barreling, while the inboard handle and added circumference improve retrieve rate. Rev these features up with our classic Waterworks-Lamson styling and attention to detail—plus our time-tested, maintenance-free drag system—and you have what the name implies: a hot rod of a reel.

A functional amazing work of Art and Design

I fell in love with Lamson reels with my First Liquid Reel. The Drag is so fluid and amazing. After landing over a dozen Big Browns 27" to 31" on light tippets I realized just how perfect the Lamson Drag system are. I am a retired Fishing Guide and have used many Fly Reels. Lamson has the best Drag in the Industry. So I started to change out my gear to use all Lamson. I ordered another Liquid triple and that was when I saw the Speedster in Steve Periwinkle I knew the Drag was Flawless and I wanted to get a fully machined reel. To my amazement the machine work is Flawless, the reel is extremely light. And let's face it the color is off the hook!!!!
The Price point in my opinion is low for what you get. What A value for such a quality work of precise Machine work and Art.
I have landed a new personal best Citation Brown of 30 1/4" on this reel and as stated the Drag is Flawless!!!!! Not to mention the Reel is just Purdy!!!! I will be adding more Lamson Reels for sure. I rate the Reel as a 10 Star not 5 on Form, Function and Quality!!!!

Absolutely love this reel. The color is wicked, and it functions like a dream. The drag goes from zero to a hundred really fast and has immense stopping power. I paired this with my fast action 8wt and have been throwing big streamers for winter browns. My only complaint is that you can't get a spare spool in this color. Will definitely recommend it to my fly fishing friends and can't wait for an excuse to buy another for my smaller fly rod.
