Had a problem with the running line sliding under the drag knob. Lamson sent me a return label to ship it back to them for free.
Fantastic customer service , which is what you're really buying when you spend your hard earned bucks. They made the reel just perfect for me and I received it back even earlier then they had told me.
It's a wonderful reel, and is just perfect for my trout spey (3 wt) rod. Won't be buying any reels from any other companies. I really like that there's no external counter balance, it's made into the reel.
Be taking it on a 9 day trout fishing excursion that can see the occasional steelhead.....be very interesting on a 3 wt. Very nice product from a really great company.

Great Reel for Silver Salmon
Just returned from a trip to AK to fish for silver salmon and the first time using a new Speedster S HD in the 7+ (I prefer the heavy-duty full cage HD models). The fishing for the silvers was hot and it was not uncommon to have 20+ fish days, which can test a fly reel. The reel performed outstanding and easily met my hopes and expectations. My biggest concern with salmon is typically the drag and the drag on this reel was nearly flawless with no noticeable start-up inertia - a very smooth release when the fish peeled off line. I recommend this reel.
