A wolf in sheep’s clothing…

A wolf in sheep’s clothing, a sleeper… Call it what you want, but this is one of the finest tapered 9’ four weights I’ve cast - at any price. I’ve cast and/or own 490-4 configurations from makers such as Sage, Loomis, Scott, Winston, Orvis, Hardy, Douglas, etc. This is a tricky size to get right and this Radius is easily my favorite. Fish it with a Rio Gold for a nearly perfect match. From fly in hand up close to as far as you would want to fish a four, it forms beautiful loops - you control the size. The blank feels like a one piece, providing the caster constant feedback. I also spent a little time with the 590-4 Radius - much of the same. Looking forward to fishing more with this Radius. My Wish

I got myself the 5wt and its a sweet casting rod with great feel and recovery. My wish is that Lamson would produce a euro nymphing rod from this blank as a foundation and please add a fight butt too. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Backbone and Touch!

I bought two of these in 9ft 5wt and paired them with the Guru S reel for guiding trips for trout. They have all the backbone of a heavier rod but every bit of the touch of a smaller rod.

If you're looking for a flyrod that will be perfect for trout and bass, this is it!
